Silk Quilt

Silk is just like your second layer of skin.Whenever you feel hot or cold, mulberry silk can easily balance out the temperature between you and your sleep environment.

Silk Quilts Filling Guide

Silk quilts are luxurious, breathable bedding with excellent temperature regulation and hypoallergenic properties. However, the type and density of the fill can greatly affect its warmth, weight, and durability. This guide will help you choose the right silk fill for your needs.

How to Maintain a Silk Quilt?

Daily Use (Most Important!)

  • Always Use a Duvet Cover: This is the most critical protective layer. It guards against body oils, sweat, and dirt. You only need to wash the cover regularly.

  • Air It Out Frequently: On a dry day, hang the quilt in a shaded, well-ventilated area for 1-2 hours. Gently shake or pat it afterwards to fluff it up.

Cleaning

  • Spot Clean First: For small stains, use a mild, pH-neutral detergent mixed with cool water. Gently dab (don’t rub) the area with a soft cloth, then rinse with a damp cloth.

  • Full Wash (Only if necessary):

    • Check the care label first.

    • Hand Wash (Best Method): Use cool water and a dedicated silk & wool wash. Soak briefly and press gently. Never wring or twist.

    • Machine Wash (If allowed): Use a front-loading washer only on the “Delicate” or “Hand Wash” cycle with cold water.

Drying

  • NO Clothes Dryer! Heat will damage the silk.

  • Air Dry Flat: Lay the quilt flat on a drying rack or clean surface in a shaded, ventilated area. Never dry in direct sunlight (it weakens and yellows the fibers).

  • Fluff It: Gently shake and pat the quilt during drying to prevent clumping and maintain loft.

Storage

  • Ensure the quilt is completely dry.

  • Store it in a breathable cotton or muslin bag (never plastic, as it traps moisture).

  • Keep it in a cool, dry, dark place. Avoid compressing it under heavy items.
